Kilimo trust looks for innovative ways to venture into new geographic areas, new technical/business issues or engages with new institutions with a potential to reduce poverty and increase income among communities. Such new knowledge emerges from priority issues identified in strategic studies and/or evaluations of ongoing projects funded by the trust or partner organizations.

Category I Projects  ( 5 items ) Commissioned Strategic Studies Strategic Studies are usually undertaken in collaboration with outstanding institutions in the region. They are designed to provide evidence and knowledge in response to stakeholders demand to support policy dialogue and strategic plans. Category III - Business Incubation Projects  ( 11 items ) These projects facilitate innovation and business development and are designed to support the commercialisation of ideas already proven by research or pilot project. Supported projects focus on innovations in policy, institutions and business practices.
